Diane Berkers [00:00:03]:
Hi there, it's Diane Berkers with Nestfeathers.ca. I help people get unstuck from their stuff. I help folks declutter and learn how to live in a lifestyle of clutter liberation, be able to enjoy their stuff, bring it in, use it for the natural lifestyle, and then let it go. The natural life cycle, rather. And I'm here today to talk about a really cool hack. This is an audio file hack with MemberVault using Buzzsprout. I have been a MemberVault member since March 2020 when we were pivoting with COVID going from a live business in person to figuring out how am I going to do this virtually. I was put onto MemberVault by a friend and I have been living in the Facebook group for the last year. There is so much gold in there, it is well worth it if you haven't searched yet.
Diane Berkers [00:01:00]:
So I remember at the beginning of this time period that I specifically wanted to be able to have audio stored, to be able to link that into my newsletters each week. I had gotten one once and it was so cool. And I thought this is what I want. This is how I can connect with my clients and potential clients. They can hear my voice and begin to just get to know me relationally when you can't be in person with me. I wanted to mix voice and print and for whatever personality type they were and how they connected. So I'd been on my radar for quite some time and somebody had put in there how to save an audio file in an invisible product from MemberVault. And I have that saved back in Facebook under my MemberVault Gold.
Diane Berkers [00:01:50]:
And I played around with that for a while. And so I have been. I've implemented that for the last six months and I've got that working smoothly. Thrilled with it. And then last month, Erin had put out there a call for folks, how are you using your signature footer to bring people back to MemberVault? So I submitted my newsletter and the feedback was really fabulous. And the one thing that stood out was because I linked to the URL, I did not link to a product within the account because I didn't want everyone signing up for the account just yet if they weren't actively going to be using products within it. However, I wasn't taking advantage of the opportunity for people to go back and listen to this content, maybe new subscribers who missed the last episodes in the other emails. So I had been mulling around on this for the last little while and I launched my husband's podcast in Buzzsprout and I saw in there that you can have an embedded player.
Diane Berkers [00:02:52]:
So I whipped up another free account for myself. I created art in Canva using a podcast template, keeping it similar to how I have it in my newsletter. And I uploaded the last twelve episodes from my voicemails and lo and behold, I clicked the embed player. I chose the second one where you could see all of the episodes in there and pick and choose which one you want. And I went into a test product that I have popped it in there under the lesson text, hit preview and the angel sang. It was oh my goodness. So incredibly satisfying to see that. Now if you go around and you play with that when you hit embed, you will not see anything on the front end in your lesson text.
Diane Berkers [00:03:42]:
So it looks like it didn't work, but it actually did. When you go and look at your insert button, the greater than less than button, and then you can see the code in there behind that. The great thing about the Buzzsprout account, if you're a new entrepreneur and you don't have a lot of finances, they offer a free plan. Now, they do have a bit of a caveat. After 90 days, your podcast starts to drop off. But that's okay. I mean, for me and my purposes, only.
Diane Berkers [00:04:15]:
Two to four-minute messages. Nobody's going to binge on a year's worth of those messages. That's just too much hearing. Hey, welcome to join the nest. Every six minutes, that's a bit rough on the ears. But to get a flavor of who I am, for new people to come in and check out my content, listening to twelve or two or three, depending on which topic appeals to them, is completely doable. And you have 2 hours that you can fill up within your monthly cycle. So if you're going to do voicemails, that's perfect.
Diane Berkers [00:04:49]:
And then this can grow with me. I can then move into a paid account and keep stuff longer. I can pick and choose which episodes I want to have stored in MemberVault. There are so many options if you're going to go down this path and play with this, which I highly recommend. I love the fact that MemberVault is just so loose of a platform that you can be creative. It hits all these fabulous businesses that people have. And what I love for myself is that I can make this my own. I can make this look completely different than anybody else.
Diane Berkers [00:05:30]:
I've played around with lots of different member vault accounts as I've been doing my slow burn here on how I'm working out mine and it is just fabulous. So check it out. Try putting in a Buzzsprout if you want. Now I do have to. As I'm doing my voicemails, I still have to have them in an invisible product to link to that because I don't want people going to my Buzzsprout account. And I still want my newsletter to be voicemail to be accessible by everyone on my subscriber list, not just the ones who have accounts in MemberVault. So I will still as my main email, I will still use a hidden product and have my mini audio in there, but then I'll just delete them after a month and have them in Buzzsprout each week and it will show up to binged within my welcome product. How cool is that? So have fun with it.
Diane Berkers [00:06:31]:
This platform has no limitations for you to be able to create how you want to create. It's just a matter of sitting down and thinking through. And I tell you, if you are not engaged in the membership in the Facebook group, start searching. There are so many cool things that people are doing and are willing to share the wealth of that information. You know, there's no one way to be an entrepreneur. There's no one way to use MemberVault. Get your feet underneath you and then begin to explore how you want to use it. How MemberVault can reflect your personality.
Diane Berkers [00:07:11]:
There are just unlimited options. Go forth and have fun. Have complete fun with it. I'm Diane Berkers and you can find me at Nestfeathers.ca. Once you're there, click on The Nest and that will take you to my MemberVault account.
