Hey, hey, Erin Kelly here. So I skipped yesterday, yesterday was definitely one of those days where everything goes wrong, I know that we all have them, where it was just literally, like every friction point that could be applied was applied.

Starting with, you know, I've shared before that I record this podcast in the morning, while Mike is making breakfast for everyone. But yesterday, he had an early morning call, and so it just it just didn't happen within our morning meeting and like, it just got pushed.

And then I think it was probably like five o'clock before I actually like had a had a moment where I could have recorded and I was like, You know what? chalk it up to a day where it's just not gonna happen. And then, you know, today's been, I find it kind of funny, because it's like, I started this week with an episode about, you know, how to how to get refocused on what's important, and to make sure that you're focusing on the most important mission.

And it's even more applicable right now, because so between co sleeping two and a half year old, and being almost 19 weeks pregnant with our third, sleep is not that great right now. And the last two nights have been just brutal. I told Mike, I feel like I'm in boot camp for having a newborn. Like, I just feel super foggy and exhausted and like a shell of a person. And so I think this is like, there's two things there's one is, life happens, like whether you have kids or not, life happens, but especially if you have kids, like there's not a lot of buffer.

And so if, if anything slips, like for example, like, in our schedule, with Mike having this early morning call, like, my podcast didn't happen. And I literally just accidentally kicked one of those, like heartbeat, stethoscopes that my kids left on the ground.

Yeah, so it's like, you know, the, if anything slips in your schedule, it's, it's very hard to play catch up. And then if you yourself, physically are not feeling well, or if you didn't get good sleep, or if one of your kids is sick, like, it can throw your goals completely out the window. I remember pre kids, like, you know, I would have down days, but I would have the space to be able to, to go and do things to read my energy backup, and then like, be able to come back and get more work done.

And it's just like, that doesn't really exist what at least with young kids, I haven't experienced older kids now. Yet, but but with young kids, like it's a, it's intense, you know, it's very full days. And so there's only small pockets of time for really good intense in depth work, or thinking about work. And so, yeah, when, when you're at a deficit, like that doesn't really happen.

And so it's even more important that you can really focus in on, okay, I had a bit less than I was going to do, or I had these goals for this day. But that's just not gonna happen. Like, I can't, I can't do it all. And instead of beating yourself up thinking, Okay, like, then what is the most important thing that I can do to be the highest impact. And that's, that's a hard groove to get into.

But it's, it's something that's worth practicing, and something I'm always practicing, because that will make you feel better at the end of the day, if you can at least say, I know, I didn't get my entire To Do List done. Which one? Do we ever, I didn't get my entire To Do List done.

But I got this done. And it's gonna be really awesome. Because the ripple effects of it are gonna be so much bigger than the actual effort that I put into it. So yeah, so that's what I'm really checking in with is that, you know, some days are down days. And, you know, you just, you can fight it, or you can just accept it, and then see how to get the most out of it that you can.

So I have like one task for myself today. Because I just, I mean, other than recording this podcast, because I just know, I don't have a whole lot. And so if I try and give myself a bunch of tasks that they're just not gonna happen. And there's other little things that I can do that aren't, don't require a whole lot of energy. But they're going to come after the most important thing for the day.

So if you are also having a down week, solidarity, and you know, I like to envision this is like a roller coaster. And for us right now, it's definitely, it feels like there's a we're in the down period, because there's just been a lot of friction and a lot of emergencies and things that you know, and bad sleep and all that stuff. And it just just happens it's life. And then, you know, it'll go back up and then it'll feel like everything is flowing and it's all working really smoothly and Wow, look at all this progress we're making and everything.

So if you were in the down roller coaster period, right there with you. And if you're in the up enjoy it, because the down is coming. And so it's just making the most of where you're at right now. And not beating yourself up for it.

So that is my mindset check in for for today. And hopefully it's helpful for you. And who knows, maybe tomorrow I'll come in and I'll have some really actionable strategy for you. But for right now, I am sluggishly moving throughout my day and thinking of you.
