A feature coming this Sunday that I’ve been waiting on for EONS

Hey, hey, Erin Kelly, CEO and co founder of MemberVault here. So we did not do a Monday update this week, simply because we ended up not having anything to announce from from the previous weekend. So that is why there was not a Monday update episode. But I am very excited I have been the the update the feature push that is going to happen this Sunday. So it's not live yet. But it will be the Sunday after this goes live. And actually, I'm terrible, because I don't know the date. But in what two days, it will be live, I have been waiting for this particular feature for a long time. And I'm really excited about it.

So it is called the Hot Lead Action trigger. So there are a couple of ways that we can talk about this. And my email marketing geek brain would love to get really complicated and complex with you. But I know that most people that is overwhelming or you do like hearing about it, but it is still overwhelming to the point where you're not actually going to do it. And it might in fact, distract you from done is better than perfect actions that we could talk about.

So I'm going to rein in my email marketing geek brain. And instead, I'm going to explain how the Hot Lead action trigger works, and a simple way to use it. So it is a very robust feature that we are adding. So that if you are an email marketing geek, if you are someone that wants to create really personalized funnels or personalized, automated, action based, you know, triggered emails, this is definitely going to be a feature that you want to pay attention to. So and again, it goes live on Sunday, so it's not quite live yet. But it will be going live on Sunday. So you can you can start thinking about it now and and then actually go in and set it up on Sunday.

So the Hot Lead action trigger is basically based on the way that MemberVault tracks what people are doing inside of your account. So if someone is logged in, which is why we this is one of the reasons why we recommend giving your email your entire email list access to a freebie so that when they do go over to your to your MemberVault account, they are, they're logged in, like they, they they are trackable.

And when they look at products that they don't own, and it can be paid or free. But when they look at products that they don't have access to MemberVault actually tracks that and says in your admin, you can actually look at reports and see your hot leads, and hot leads or people that have looked at a product that they don't have access to so free or paid more than once. And this happens on and the way our system is currently set up is it's a daily register. So they've gone and looked at that product multiple days, and they still don't have access, so they haven't purchased or signed up for it right. And so this is really good information for you. For a lot of different reasons.

I mean, just from going in and looking at your reports, it's very helpful, because you can look and see, oh, I have a ton of Hot Leads for this product, that means that it's striking a nerve, like people are interested. But for some reason, if you don't have a bunch of sales, that is, for some reason, they aren't clicking buy. So like that can be really great information for you, if you have a lot of Hot Leads for a product, but you don't have a lot of sales. And so you know that, you know, maybe you need to look at that sales page, maybe you need to, you know, add some information that is going to help people, you know, make that buying decision. Maybe and this is always my advice is you know, maybe this is a great time for you to reach out to some of those hot leads, and try and dig into a little bit of why they haven't purchased. And this kind of depends on the price point of the of the product right so and your focus right now because if it's like a very high dollar product, you might even want to get on some phone calls.

Or if it's a really low cost offer that you are planning on making part of your kind of ongoing like product ladder and it's gonna be it's not something that you're probably going to not offer again or something like that. If it's something that you really want to put some energy into so that it's scalable income for you. Then even if it's low cost, you might want to you might want to get some really good market research interviews and reach out to those hot leads and either talk to them via email or preferably on a couple of them at least on a phone call.

Just because there's so much information that you can pick up in the in between that you would not you would not know to ask for more information on just in a quiz question or in an email. So just from the very Hot Leads are just fabulous for for market research kind of like pulse check on your on your products. But now with this hot lead action trigger, what you can actually do is you can go into Actions in your MemberVault account. And you can say, hey, for this product, when someone has viewed it, you know, that doesn't have access when they have viewed it. And we have, we have an option from one to 10. So they have used it two or more like two times, then do this. And so some of your options are like, send yourself a notification, add a tag, that's where you would start getting like email geeky, give them access to a to a product, etc, etc.

So there's a lot of different strategies that you could use there. But I promised you at the beginning of this episode, that I was not going to geek out and share any kind of overwhelming strategy. So what I recommend Oh, and let me just before I go into it, know that you can set up multiple ones. So you can set up this person viewed this product, you know, they don't have access to it, they visit that they viewed this product, once do this, and then you can have another action that says they've used this product five times or three times do this. So you can start getting like more complex with how you're nurturing those leads.

But for this particular situation, what I think would be really, really fantastic. And it's not it's, it requires a little bit of email, know how but not a ton. And if you haven't started playing around with us, I think that it's a good thing to stretch your muscles on anyway, is to let's say, they have viewed the product. So you set up in actions, they view this product, hot leads, three times, I would say two or three, and then add a tag. And the tag can be however you have your tag hierarchy.

If you already are using tags, if you're not just make something that you're going to know what it means like it could be like warm or hot lead three sets the the number of times that you chose and then like the name of the product, because in your email system, you want to be able to to be able to look at the tag and go, Oh, I know what that's that's for, instead of being like, what am I talking about. And then in your email system, what I would do, and this is in this is assuming that the product is like fairly new, what I would do is I would trigger an email with that.

So when that tag is added by MemberVault into your email system, I would have it trigger and an automated email. And I would I would say, hey, so and so. You know, I noticed that you've you've been checking out and you don't have to be super transparent, I choose to be because we actually do this in some of our automated emails are actually a lot of our automated emails will say like, this is an automated email, but like we still genuinely want to know, or we still genuinely believe this or whatever.

And we get so much appreciation for people from people being like, I'm so glad that you called it out. Like I know, it's an automated email, but I love that you actually said that, and it made it feel that much more personal. So just a little side note. So I would I would say, you know, hey, so and so I noticed you were checking out x name of product, right. And I wanted to give you a little backstory as to like, why I created this because I saw this need, right? So like, don't get into your backstory like I created because I love talking about blah, blah, blah. It's I created this because I saw how many clients or how many people in my audience needed X, like they needed a solution to this problem, right. And they wanted it in this type of delivery method.

So I give them like, what is this solve? What is this product solving? And how is it delivered? So it's kind of like a fun way to sort of storytel that, and not have it be like a typical sales email, excuse me? And then I would say, you know, and I know, it's a fairly new product. And so what I would love to do, since you've already been showing that you might be interested, is I'd like to offer you a and this is where you can kind of decide your business beliefs. Do you like doing coupons? Or do you like doing bonuses, and I'm not an anti coupon person, when there is a good short term reason.

So if this is a newer product, I think that it's totally warranted to offer up a coupon. And say, I, you know, this is a newer product. I know people really want it, I've you know, I'm really excited about it, because it's going to help people X again, repeating that outcome. And I would like to give you a 20% off coupon or something like that. As part of an agreement that when you purchase, I can reach out to you and get some feedback about the process or you know, and so you can kind of choose how you're going to get the feedback but kind of the expectation here is that you're giving them a coupon as part of a kind of collaborative effort to improve this product and make this product really awesome.

And it's a win win for them because the way that you can kind of wrap this is that you are going to be giving them some direct access to you, whether it's just by following up with them, or by reviewing their results, or by getting on a call with them or Voxer access or, you know, however, but you are going to be giving them access to your brain, in exchange for them giving access to their brain and their experience. And they also get a little discount to help make that buying decision for them. And so I think, and I would say, like, I'm only doing this with a handful of people, but I just really want to, to make sure since it's a new product, that this is performing, really the way that I want it to, and I want to get more insights into how it can make it even better. And just know that you're going to be getting, you know, access to my brain through X, whatever the however, you're going to get that feedback from them, you know, you're gonna be getting access to that, you're also going to be getting the discount, and even better, you're going to get access to all of the updates as I continue to improve the product, I already think it's awesome. This is just like icing on the top, right.

So that's one way that you could handle it. Another way that you could handle it is you could do a bonus, where it's like, hey, notice, you've been checking this out, I created this because of X. And I'm delivering it like this. And I noticed, you know, because you're checking it out. And also because I, you know want to continue to improve and get better insights about people as they go through this, where they're struggling, where I can make it better, etc. If you buy by X time, and this is where it starts get a little, the coupon is easier. You can do a if you buy by X time, then you'll get this bonus. And so I don't want to go into like how you would actually set that up just because then we're going to start getting really complicated. But you know, and I think actually, if you want to do it that way, what you could do technically is send yourself a notification and just send them a personal email. So that way you kind of can like track for yourself, like, hey, I've reached out to this person, this was their deadline and whatever. So there's a couple of different ways that you could handle the execution on that.

And like I said, coupon is way easier if you're okay with you and coupons, and I would be okay in this situation. Because it's a new product, and you're kind of doing it as like a collaborative thing and like a giveback thing and everything. I probably wouldn't keep that going long term. So if you're listening to this, and you're like, well, that's great, Erin. But this isn't a new product. This is a product that I've had in my MemberVault for a while, how do I use the Hot Lead trigger.

And so what I would do for you is a different strategy, I probably would set it up as when someone views and this is assuming that you don't want to get into like funnels and you know, lots of email geekery, what I would do is probably set up a Hot Lead action trigger for that product that they viewed it like four times, because that's a lot. Like that's four days, I've gone in and looked at that product, and they haven't bought it or signed up for it. And I probably would only do this for paid products, by the way. Um, and then send yourself a notification and just have like a template email that you that you have saved for yourself. That's just like, hey, so and so. And people love when you send them personal emails, too. So this is huge. Hey, so and so like, I noticed that you were checking out this product. And you can even personalize it, if it's someone that has been in your MemberVault answering quiz questions and stuff, or that has been giving you other data you can be like, you know, I noticed that, you know, when you were going through this challenge or whatever, that you shared that you're really struggling with this. And it's exactly why I created this, this product that you've been checking out. And so I would love to if you have any questions like I know that it sucks to like be considering buying something and, and being stuck on something. So if there's something that's missing from the sales page, or there's something that you're curious about, that I can help you with, like, I'm happy to, to answer any questions that you have.

And depending on the price point of the product, you know, if it's like an expensive retainer or something you can even offer like a discovery call. But just you know, giving them that personal touch. And I like to always say, in those sales, emails, like this is no pressure, like, No pressure. And if I don't think that, like if your question means that you're not, like after you share your question with me, I don't feel like it's a good fit for you, I will tell you, and I do like I've told to quite a few people not to buy something.

So that's totally an integrity for me. And I think that it really reduces a lot of friction for people because they don't think that you're gonna it gives them that like pressure relief of like, Oh, she's not gonna hard or he's not gonna hard sale me. Are they? Right? So it's, it's just very, it's a good way to call it the elephant in the room. It's like, I'm not doing this to pressure you. I'm doing this to support you. And so if you have questions that I haven't covered, like, please let me know like I'm happy, happy to help you. So that's how I would do it.

If it's a product that you had in your MemberVault for a while, especially if it's higher dollar. I probably would do the like, you know, Hot Lead. They've checked about four times, and send yourself a personal notification, and then just have a template email that you sent to those people. But if it's a newer product, like, I think that that's like the coupon idea is a really fantastic one to to help you get some market research to support people on making the buying decision. It's like a win win for everyone. So those are my ideas. I could go on, like I said, I'm waiting for this feature for a while. So I'm really excited about all of the the possibilities there, we didn't even talk about like how you could kind of wrap in the, the, the trigger for like, Hot Lead, they've used it five times, like give them access to a product, like you give them access to like a taste a product. That's like a, you've been checking this out.

And so like, I'd love to give you a little sample of of whatever right, and and  the way my brain works is I can think of a bajillion different, like strategies and ways to use this. But I know that that's really overwhelming. And it really kind of depends on your business, your audience, the product, price point, you know, all of those things. And so there's a right fit for for one thing that might not be a right fit for another. But you know, the the two things that I gave examples on like, I think that's a pretty good across the board, and it's going to be a good fit for most people.

So again, this feature lands on Sunday, so you can start go, you can go in there and play around with it. And if you really like all the stuff that I'm sharing, and, but you want a little bit more support. Around executing it, I've been kind of noodling around with like a workshop, or some other like guided, where you get access to me and like reviewing what you're doing. Situation product offer. And it might be free, it might be paid, but it will be low cost if it is paid. And so I'm curious if you would be interested in in geeking out on Hot Leads with me, which is going to only increase not only your sales, but also people feeling like you're really in touch with them.

So if you would like to have a little bit more support from me beyond just like our documentation, and this podcast episode, I would love to hear from you. And you can email me at erin@membervault.co. And again, this is something that I'm just kind of like so, so into that I would love to help people actually execute it, because I know from previous experience that the Hot Lead thing is something that people are really curious about, but they get very stuck in actually implementing. And I would love to help so if that is something that you would be interested in, again, like I said, No pressure. This is I add this little like caveat to like any kind of sales conversation, no pressure. I'm literally just curious if that's something that you'd be interested in. And obviously I'm not giving you a lot of context over how that would be delivered or what it would work like, but just just the starting point of like yes, I would love a little bit more support around implementing hot leads. Let me know so email me at erin@membervault.co. And of course then I will let you know if I come up with with the package and what it looks like and all that good stuff.
