It's Victoria here. And I help business owners to navigate the online tech world so that they can focus on helping their clients rather than worrying about all the tech that goes on behind the scenes. And that could be anything from creating a website from scratch, or setting up a new offering their memorable site.

I also have my own MemberVault site, which has all my tech products in it. And obviously, I have to drive traffic to that website. But I am a stereotypical techie. So I'm introverted. And I find marketing a real challenge. So when I found this strategy that works for me, I just grabbed it with both hands. And I've been using it for years now. And it's just, it's just amazing. And the strategy is mainly around using Facebook groups. Okay,

So I go into Facebook groups, I answer questions, I help people, which shows my expertise, it gets them to trust me, it attracts them to my profile, or they asked me what I do. And then they click on my link, which takes them to member vault. Okay,

So all roads lead to MemberVault. And I really love it, because it doesn't involve that much effort compared to personal and public social channels. And it fits my personality. And I can adjust it to fit my schedule as well. So I'm not restricted by having to post three times a day here four times a day over there coming over here to engage. I just fit it in when I can. And it's worked really well for me.

I actually stumbled on this strategy a few years ago, when I started offering my tech services online, I got stuck in a particular problem. And I couldn't get my head around it, I reached out to the tool support who were not very helpful. So I thought to myself, Where can I find other people that use this tool and know how to figure this out? I open Facebook, did his Facebook search, use the tool name in the group search? And I joined the popular groups that came up, I asked my question, but I didn't actually get an answer to my question, if I remember correctly, but I stayed in those groups. And then I started spotting these questions that kept coming up, and no one was answering them, I thought, Why is no one answering them? does no one know these? The answer to these questions.

So I started answering them. And from then on people, they knew my name, they will click on my Facebook name, go to my profile, click my link, get into my MemberVault, they would ask me to work with them or ask me for links to my courses and all of that. So it just really snowballed from there. And I actually stopped posting on my public channels. Because of this, it was working so well.

Obviously, over time, I have tweaked it a little bit because of changes in my life or my business. And I've gotten a bit wiser in my old age, but core principle has remained the same. If you are genuinely helpful to people, they will get curious and find out more about what you do, which will then obviously getting them going to your member vault site, because you have put your links in the right places.

So if you're wondering how to get started with this, or maybe you've been doing this for a while, and you are wondering how to step up your game? Or maybe you think what else could I possibly do to make this even better, or maybe I haven't missed anything. So let's see what she has to say, then keep listening, because I'm going to lay out some action steps that you can implement today.

Okay, so firstly, you need to create a resource link in your MemberVault site. So that could be a link in bio page, a type of link in bio page, you'd use empty pages for that. And you just create a page with lots of buttons or well, not lots, but enough for people to get a sense of what you do, and is going to be relevant to most people that land on there. Or you could use envy offers to create an offer that gets people to sign up to your email list. So that way, they can stay in touch with you. Okay, so those are the two things, I recommend either a link in bio page using envy, or an offer to get people to sign up to your email list.

So once you've created the link as your first step, secondly, add that link to your Facebook profile, it will appear somewhere near the top of your profile when people view your page. And I found out as well recently that you can restrict who sees that link. So before used to be publicly available. And I know some people were a bit wary about that. But now you can restrict who sees that link. So if you know you are putting people into lists on your Facebook, you can then say only show this link to my business list.

Okay, so once you've done that, you need to go find some Facebook groups to join. You use the Facebook search feature to find groups that align with your niche and your ideal client. Okay, so not just your initial needs. So for example, if you are a social media manager, you don't just want to join a group of social media managers because they're probably not your ideal client. Okay, so you might want to join a group where people will be asking questions, say about a particular tool that they're using, or maybe some strategies you want to join a group where people will be there asking questions that you can answer and that they will get them to work with you. Okay. I hope that makes sense.

So find some groups that align with your niche, and your ideal clients will be hanging out in there and asking questions, and also the groups have to be active. So when you search for groups, Facebook does tell you how many posts has been in the group for the last 30 days, I think it might be someone or 30. But I think it's 30. So only choose ones that have activity over the last 30 days, you wanna, you don't want to join a group that's that no one's posting. Okay.

Over time, you probably add more criteria to narrow down your, your list of groups that you're going to join, you know, I have other things as well that I use to narrow it down. But when you're first starting out, just keep it slightly broader, so that you get a sense of what this involves. Okay?

Fourthly, once you join, scroll through the recent posts, and just check out the vibe of the group, don't just start posting and answering questions immediately. Okay? Check out the posts, see what the vibe is like in there, see if it aligns with yours. If not, then you leave. If it does, then stay and then start answering questions. If there are no questions to answer, start engaging naturally, with some posts on there. Obviously, do not post any links here or any promo content unless the there's a thread for that. But even so, you know, just joining a group newly and then posting a link can seem a bit spammy. So try and keep it to, you know, really engaging and genuine, natural comment, or post maybe introducing yourself, and then answering questions as and when they come up. Okay, this will start building your trust and your credibility and your expertise. And people will start knowing who you are.

Okay. And then as a bonus tab, create a spreadsheet to track the groups you're joining. So as your join groups, as you join the groups, I should say, add them to your spreadsheet, and then just use that to track your effort as well.

And if you want another bonus step, then if the group has some promo threads in there, then create a task in your reminder app for those days, and then they will pop up to say go and drop your link, and you're going to drop your MemberVault link. Okay. I think that is a promo thread in the MemberVault Collaborative on Fridays. So that is the first one, you could add to your reminder app just there on Fridays, go into MemberVault and post your, your course links, your service links, or any of the links you have on your MemberVault page.

Okay, I hope that all makes sense. So those are the steps that I will suggest that you take. And hopefully that all sounds doable as well. And if you're further along in your strategy, then the later bonus steps might be more useful to you.

But obviously, with anything to do with strategy, there are always some things to watch out for. And one of those things is that, I would suggest you set some time boundaries early on, it is very easy to just pop into a Facebook group. And before you know it, two hours have gone by, and you've done nothing else except as a questions and engage with people. So make sure you set this time boundaries early on, okay. That's where that tracker comes in handy. So you can use that to track your time. And if there are any groups that you're not getting anything back from, then you drop that from your list and leave the group, okay, then just dangerous for the sake of it. And if the groups are working really well, you might then want to spend more time in those groups. So track your groups and guard your time, guard your time really, really well.

And my second thing actually to watch out for is learn the group rules. Okay. If in doubt, just impose links, and don't really promote anything in groups, unless you have read the rules first, okay. Usually the groups that are really helpful and supportive tend to have a no links, no promo rules and a group with some exceptions. And I know that can be frustrating, because you know, it's just easier to tell someone, click here to see the course I'm talking about. But there are ways around this, okay, the way you work things, or let people know that you have something to offer. And by adding your links to your profile, people can just click on your name and go and find your links. So I know it's frustrating. But it is also helpful to others to not just have a group full of people promoting their own products without anyone doing any due diligence on them. Okay.

And also remember that you are tapping into someone else's audience. It's their territory that they've built up. So you do have to respect your rules, unfortunately. And also those rules can actually tell you if the group is for you. So sometimes the groups, the groups, sometimes the rules are so specific, that they'd invite you, and you can just leave. Okay.

So my second action from all of that I've just said is that, if in doubt, don't post links don't promo. And if you're going to post links, check the group rules and make sure that you're posting it in the assigned place or time for it.
